Why CALMO® Eye Spray?CALMO® Eye Spray: Offers immediate comfort and humidification of dry eyes, and stabilizes the lipid layer of the tear film when sprayed on the closed eye. Is preservative free and usually very well tolerated. Contains liposomes and dexpanthenol (pro-vitamin B5), which moisturize the eye area and provide preventative protection for the skin. CALMO® Eye Spray stabilizes the lipid layer of the tear film, regulates and improves the humidification of the eye surface and the eyelids. It should be used in environment-related disorders such as dry eyes, strained eyelids, foreign body sensation, and a burning and itching sensation in the eyes. The liposomes and pro-vitamin B5 (dexpanthenol) in CALMO® Eye Spray moisturize the eye area and provide preventative protection for the skin.
-
How does CALMO® Eye Spray work?CALMO® Eye Spray addresses one of the root causes of dry eye. The liposomes in CALMO® Eye Spray consist of lipids very similar to those which occur in your own tear film. The lipid layer protects the tears from evaporation and prevents tears from running over the lid margin. A lack of these lipids results in an increased evaporation of tears. Once sprayed upon the closed eyes, the lipids contained in CALMO® Eye Spray mix with lipids produced by the Meibomian glands at the lid margin. Upon opening the eye, this optimized lipid mix gets spread onto the tear film and thus stabilizes it. The lipid layer of the tear film is very thin, so already a small amount of CALMO® Eye Spray is sufficient to repair and stabilize that lipid layer. After only a few minutes the unpleasant sensations like burning, itching and the sometimes gritty sensation (like sand in your eyes) disappear. With every subsequent blink, the tear film on the eye surface will once more be supplied with this mix of physiological lipids and liposomes contained in CALMO® Eye Spray and thus be stabilized. The effect of 1 - 2 sprays will work for approximately 4 hours.
-
How to use CALMO® Eye Spray and how often / how long?It is very easy: Spray CALMO® Eye Spray 1 - 2 times on the closed eyelids from a distance of approximately 10 cm. Do not spray the product into the open eye or touch the eye surface with the spray head. Generally, applying CALMO® Eye Spray 3 - 4 times per day is recommended. If you apply CALMO® Eye Spray more frequently (e.g.: more than 10 times per day) or suffer from more severe complaints, please consult your ophthalmologist or optometrist. CALMO® Eye Spray is suitable for long-term treatment. As with all health concerns, you should consult your doctor when your symptoms persist. For more severe cases, CALMO® Eye Spray may be used more often and in combination with HYLO®, HYLO®GEL or HYLO®DUAL. Ideally, CALMO® Eye Spray is used about 5 minutes after application of the HYLO®drops. When using eye makeup, CALMO® Eye Spray should be used before applying makeup and after makeup removal. CALMO® Eye Spray can also be used with previously applied eye makeup. In this case, only one spray should be applied and the distance between the dispenser and the eye should be slightly greater (about 20 cm).
-
When should you not use CALMO® Eye Spray?CALMO® Eye Spray should not be used if you are sensitive to any of the ingredients.
-
Is CALMO® Eye Spray suitable for contact lens wearers?Yes, CALMO® Eye Spray makes wearing contact lenses much more comfortable.
-
Can CALMO® Eye Spray be used after surgery?Any eye surgery can increase the risk of problems with post-surgery dryness. Lubrication with artificial tears and the use of a liposome-based eye spray, like CALMO®, have both proved their applicability for the treatment of dry eye symptoms after refractive and cataract surgery.
-
How to store CALMO® Eye Spray?Store between 2 °C and 25 °C (in a cool, dry place). Do not freeze, as this may result in disintegration of the liposomes. Can be used for 6 months after first use. The CALMO® Eye Spray bottle may be used by several persons, since there is no risk of contamination. For more information, please read the package insert! As with all health concerns, you should consult your doctor when your symptoms persist.

Why NACLINO™?NACLINO™ saline lid wipes are sterile and preservative-free for gentle yet efficient mechanical cleaning. NACLINO™ is fragrance-free, soap-free and hypoallergenic, containing no unnecessary irritants, making it suitable for daily care and hygiene of the eyelids, lashes and eyelid margins. NACLINO™ is Canada’s first and solely available saline-only lid wipe! NACLINO™ is rinse-free, residue-free, non-irritating, hypoallergenic and suitable for sensitive skin daily care and hygiene of lashes, eyelids and the eyelid margin. Using NACLINO™ as directed is an effective way to keep eyelids and skin clean. NACLINO™ saline lid wipes are pre-moistened solely in a saline solution (0.9% NaCl and aqua).
-
Who should use NACLINO™?NACLINO™ is ideal for those seeking a soft, gentle and easy to use solution for daily care and hygiene of lashes, eyelids and the eyelid margin. Patients with eye disorders are encouraged to consult their doctor before using NACLINO™ for daily eyelid hygiene. However, the saline-only nature of NACLINO™ should be suitable for most patients.
-
How does NACLINO™ work?NACLINO™ was designed to provide a sterile, gentle and non-irritating option for eyelid hygiene. Instead of surfactants (soaps), which take away the physiological lipids produced by the Meibomian glands (which can destroy the lipid layer of the tear film), NACLINO™ lid wipes are pre-moistened solely with a saline solution, gently cleansing the eyelids with minimal effects on the lipid layer of the tear film.
-
How to use NACLINO™ ?NACLINO™ is most often used two times per day - in the morning and evening, or as directed by a doctor before and after ophthalmic procedures / surgery. Wash hands thoroughly before removing the NACLINO™ saline lid wipe from the sachet. Moisten the eyelid margins with the pre-moistened saline wipe and gently massage along the upper and lower edge of the eyelid. When cleaning eyelids, it is recommended to massage towards the rims of the eyelid, near the exit of the Meibomian glands. Carefully remove any crusts and deposits. To cleanse the eyelid margins, it is recommended that the lower eyelid should be gently pulled downward with one finger, or the upper eyelid should be gently pulled upward, so that the eyelid margin can be easily reached. Do not use the same wipe for both eyelids. Discard the wipe after use and use a new wipe for each eye. Avoid touching the inside of the eyelids or the eye surface with the wipe. Tip: It might be helpful to place a warm compress or a reheatable mask on the closed eyelids before using NACLINO™. This facilitates the liquification of any existing hardened secretions from the tear glands and their subsequent easy removal. For more details, please consult the patient information on the wipe sachet or the box.
-
Is NACLINO™ suitable for contact lens wearers?Yes, although it is recommended that contact lenses be inserted after NACLINO™ has been used.
-
Can NACLINO™ be used after surgery? We strongly recommend following your doctor’s instructions for how often and for how long you should use NACLINO™ to clean the surrounding skin areas around your eye. In any case, we can only recommend dabbing NACLINO™ around the surrounding of the eye. Using NACLINO™ as directed is a gentle way to keep eyelids and lashes clean and moist before and after procedures, while reducing the risk of irritation usually associated with soaps, preservatives and other irritants. Following a proper lid hygiene routine is beneficial for patients; especially those who will undergo eye surgery. An excerpt from JM Sparrow highlights the importance of a proper light hygiene regimen: “On-the-day cancellation of cataract surgery causes much distress for the patient and increases the burden on already stretched services, in addition to significant financial implications. A primary risk factor for endophthalmitis is thought to be local eyelid disease, with the majority of cases attributable to the patients' own flora.1,2 Current guidelines therefore suggest that surgery is postponed pending disease control, usually with a lid hygiene regimen.3”
-
What is the appearance and fragrance of NACLINO™?NACLINO™ wipes are individually-wrapped and pre-moistened, with no residue to rinse off. NACLINO™ saline lid wipes are larger than average face wipes, and are comprised of a high-quality, stretchy, gauze-like material and is fragrance-free.
-
How to store NACLINO™?Store between 2 °C and 25 °C in a cool, dry place. Keep out of the reach of children. Do not use if the sachet is torn or damaged in any way. Do not use after expiry date. For more details, consult the patient information on the wipe sachet or the box.
-
Why CALMO® Lid Care?CALMO® Lid Care is fragrance free, paraben free and tenside (soap) free. Due to the absence of these and other irritants, CALMO® Lid Care is suitable for sensitive skin. CALMO® Lid Care contains only aqua, sodium chloride, lecithin, phenoxyethanol, alcohol, retinyl palmitate and tocopherol. CALMO® Lid Care gently removes ocular debris and makeup. Using CALMO® Lid Care as directed is an effective way to keep your eyelids and skin clean and moisturized. Regular eyelash, eyelid and eyelid margin hygiene can be important for patients with blepharitis, ocular rosacea, conjunctivitis and dry eye. If you have any of this or other eye disorders, ask your doctor before using CALMO® Lid care for daily eyelid hygiene.
-
How does CALMO® Lid Care work?Instead of tensides (soap), which take away the physiological lipids produced by the Meibomian glands (and thus can destroy the lipid layer of the tear film), CALMO® Lid Care contains liposomes, which gently and effectively cleanse the eyelid margins and have a stabilizing effect on the lipid layer of the tear film.
-
How to use CALMO® Lid Care?CALMO® Lid Care should be used twice daily - in the morning and evening. CALMO®Lid Care should be applied with lint-free (cotton) pads that are suitable for eyelid care. To avoid contamination, the dropper should not come into contact with any surfaces, especially not the cotton pad. Please drop CALMO® Lid Care onto the cotton pad from a short distance. During daily care and hygiene of the eyelid margin with CALMO® Lid Care, all crusts and deposits should be thoroughly removed. It is recommended that you wash your hands before application. Please watch the following video to learn how to use CALMO® Lid Care Tips for correct use: Moisten a cotton pad with CALMO® Lid Care Then moisten the eyelids, specially the eyelid margins and the base of the eyelashes with a saturated cotton pad and gently massage the eyelid margin along the upper and lower edge of the eyelid. Carefully remove any crusts and deposits that are present. To cleanse the eyelid margins, it is recommended that the lower eyelid should be gently pulled downward with one finger of the free hand or the upper eyelid should be gently pulled upward, so that the eyelid margin can be easily reached. If necessary, replace the used cotton pad with a new one. Discard the used cotton pad after cleansing each eyelid. Do not use the same cotton pad for both eyelids. Do not apply CALMO® Lid Care directly into the eyes. Do not touch the inside of the eyelids or the eye surface with the saturated cotton pad.
-
Is CALMO® Lid Care suitable for contact lens wearers?Yes, although it is recommended that contact lenses be inserted after CALMO® Lid Care has been used.

Can CALMO® Lid Care be used after surgery? In the event of eye surgery, speak with your doctor before using CALMO® Lid Care.
-
When should you not use CALMO® Lid Care?CALMO® Lid Care should not be used in case of hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients.
-
How is the appearance and fragrance of CALMO® Lid Care?Due to its liposomal formulation, CALMO® Lid Care is an opalescent liquid with a milky appearance and the characteristic natural fragrance of lecithin.
-
How to store CALMO® Lid Care?Store between 2 °C and 25 °C in a cool, dry place. Keep out of the reach of children. Can be used up to 4 weeks after first use. Do not use if the safety closure of the bottle is damaged. Do not use after expiry date. For more details, please see packaging insert

Why OCUNOX®?OCUNOX® eye ointment: Improves the tear film and protects the surface of the eye. Is preservative and phosphate free, and is usually well tolerated. Enables optimal moisturisation overnight. OCUNOX® improves the tear film and protects the surface of the eye. Due to its particularly smooth texture, OCUNOX® gently moisturizes your eyes, stabilizes the tear film and prevents tears from evaporating while you sleep. OCUNOX® contains vitamin A, a natural component of the tear film, that supports tolerance and helps ensure that the ointment mixes well with available tears to relieve the burning sensation of dry or tired eyes. OCUNOX® helps the eyelids slide easily over the surface of the cornea and conjunctiva, keeping the eyelids smooth and preventing crusting around the eye. Contains 250 I.U./g retinol palmitate (vitamin A), paraffin, liquid paraffin, wool fat and white petrolatum. Improves the tear film and protects the surface of the eye.
-
Who can use OCUNOX®?Children, pregnant and breast-feeding women can safely use OCUNOX®. If you use OCUNOX® during the day, your vision will be impaired for some time because of the fatty consistency of the ointment. For the duration of this impairment of vision you should not drive a car, use machines or perform any work without stable footing. OCUNOX® must not be used while wearing contact lenses.
-
How often and how long can you use OCUNOX®?The frequency of use depends on your individual discomfort and habits. OCUNOX®can be used in addition to lubricating eye drops. Ideally combine with our preservative-free, phosphate-free, 300-drop HYLO® / HYLO®Gel. Usually apply once a day before bedtime. If you feel the need to use OCUNOX® more often, talk to your doctor. The duration of treatment is not limited.
-
How should OCUNOX® be applied?Only use OCUNOX® if the sealing ring of the tube is intact. Eye ointments should be used by avoiding any contact between the tube-tip and the eye or the skin. Unscrew the cap covering the nozzle. Tilt back your head a little, then slightly retract the lower eyelid from the eye. Apply a slight pressure to the tube to squeeze a small amount of ointment into the conjunctival sac. Slowly close the eye. Close the tube carefully after use. Do not fold or coil up the tube. A tube of OCUNOX® should not be shared. Store at room temperature (15 to 25 °C).
-
When should I not use OCUNOX®?OCUNOX® should not be used if you are sensitive to any of the ingredients. OCUNOX® is preservative and phosphate free and is usually well tolerated. OCUNOX® must not be used while wearing contact lenses.
-
Why is preservative free and phosphate free important?Preservatives can damage the cells of the eye surface, destroy the natural tear film and cause intolerance. Phosphates can form practically insoluble crystals due to the reaction with calcium (which is released from damaged cells of the eye surface) and can impair your vision. Modern eye drops and ointments used for dry eyes, particularly after eye surgery or injuries, should not contain phosphates. Because they stay long on the surface of the eye, it is particularly important that ointment-like eye preparations do not contain any harmful substances. OCUNOX® eye ointment is entirely free of preservatives and phosphates. Nonetheless, due to its unique formulation, OCUNOX® eye ointment can be used for up to 6 months after first opening.
