Dry eye disease affects millions of Canadians and is a complex, multifactorial disorder of the tear film that may damage the ocular surface. It is commonly triggered by air conditioning, computer work, hormone changes, allergies, medications, environmental factors, eye surgery, and eye injuries. As dry eye prevalence continues to rise, health professionals and patients are seeking treatments they can rely on for consistent performance, comfort, and long‑lasting relief.
Over the years, CandorVision® has received excellent feedback from ophthalmologists, optometrists, health professionals, and patients regarding their positive experiences with HYLO®. Building on this, CandorVision® sought to gain deeper insights into how we can continue to support health professionals and their patients in the successful management of dry eye symptoms.
Last year, more than 100 Canadian ophthalmologists participated in an anonymous survey administered by AdHoc Research, a leading Canadian market research firm. The survey was designed to understand ophthalmologists’ perceptions of HYLO® treatments and the clinical scenarios in which they recommend lubricating dry eye drops. The research examined critical factors such as ingredient knowledge, pricing, clinical usage patterns, brand awareness, and overall perception among eye care specialists.
Main takeaways from the survey:
HYLO® is the most frequently recommended (>80%) lubricating eye drop brand among Canadian ophthalmologists surveyed.
Two-thirds of surveyed ophthalmologists trust and personally use HYLO® for themselves and/or their family members, and over 90% have used HYLO® in the past year.
